Peaches and vegetables today

Hello Friends,

The peaches are in! We are getting ready to load the vehicle for delivery to B’nai Emunah in Tulsa this afternoon from 4:30 – 5:30 pm.

We have some extra peaches that are not spoken for! If you would like some and call or email us very soon, we will load them for you. We will also be bringing in a few extra boxes to sell by-the-pound. If you miss today´s delivery, we will be in Bristow tomorrow from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.

In addition to peaches, we will also be selling some vegetables from the garden: okra, eggplant, and tomatoes.

Blessings,

Luke and Chantee

Organic peaches

Hello former market and CSA friends,

We are partnering with a farmer friend in Colorado to bring organic peaches to Oklahoma next week. We would like to get some pre-orders and do a peach delivery to Tulsa. These will be great peaches at a good price! Fresh picked, USDA organic. We will pick up the peaches at First Fruits Organic Farm in Colorado on Tuesday and will deliver them to Tulsa at B’nai Emunah Synagogue, 21st and Peoria from 4:30 – 6:00 pm.

We need to reserve our box count at the farm tomorrow (Friday), so we would like to get as many orders in tomorrow as possible. Earlier the better. Sorry for the late notice.

More info on the order form linked here!

Please share this link with your friends. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,

Luke and Chantée Fisher

Early spring

Hello Friends,

Spring looks like it might be early this year! We are going to start our Tulsa CSA a week earlier than planned as well (no extra charge!) April 13 to July 5. It is not too late to sign up! We are hoping to add a few more new members this year, so feel free to forward this to your friends.

Fishers Produce 2017 CSA

Dear Friends,

We are getting back into gear after our year in Congo and are ready to open CSA registration for our 2017 season. Our community supported agriculture program is an opportunity for you to partner with the farmers that grow your food.

We are going to make some big changes to our Tulsa deliveries this year. Our current plan is to retire from Brookside Market (with a few sweet corn exceptions) and instead set up a CSA market stand at B’nai Emunah Synagogue on Wednesday evenings. All Brookside and other former Tulsa members welcome! This will still be a CSA, but you will be able to pick out your own vegetables with some choice and flexibility as to what and how much you would like to take home each week. You will also be able to visit with us and fellow members who may be picking up at the same time. We can share growing tips, recipe ideas, and in general, have a real community.

We plan to deliver to B’nai Emunah each Wednesday from April 19 through July 5. This will be twelve weeks of fresh produce at $25.00 per week. We may also do an encore edition delivery on July 19 and others later depending on how the weather and garden are doing. We will set up in front of the synagogue for two hours each week from 3:30-5:30 (or possibly 6:00?) Please let us know your preferred pick-up time in the sign-up form/survey.

Some of our highlights this year will be asparagus, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, and more blackberries, but we will have the full range of spring and summer garden staples and favorites as they come into season.

In addition to weekly produce, you and your family will be invited to join us for a harvest dinner on the farm sometime during the second half of June. You will also be able to come out and get your hands dirty on farm “work days.” These are not mandatory! but an opportunity for those who wish to be more involved or give their children the first hand experience of seeing a farm in action. Some planned farm day projects: potato and onion harvest, high tunnel building, and sweet corn picking!

Blessings from the Fishers,

Luke, Chantee, Hudson, and Maria

Brookside Market Sweet Corn!

Hello Friends,

I know we have been gone a long time. We arrived back from Congo at the beginning of June, just a few weeks before sweet corn season. Now that is in full swing and we’re in Tulsa today at the Brookside Market (41st and Peoria) selling sweet corn, tomatoes, and other summer produce.

Come and see us today and pick up your corn for the 4th of July! The market runs this morning from 7:30-11:00.

This is the only week for corn in Tulsa!!

Blessings,

Luke and Chantee

Spirit Event Center Update

Dear Friends at Spirit Event Center,

We unfortunately have a funeral to attend at 2:00pm in Bristow. We would like to try for a 12:30 delivery time. CSA members, please let us know if you can accommodate us in this way.

Luke

Rain or shine

Hello friends,

Only two weeks left of our regular season!

We finally have a little sweet corn! The spring flooding drowned the first three plantings but only almost drowned planting #4!

The online market will be open. I believe this is our last regular delivery of the season to the Spirit Event Center, so stock-up, while you can! Please have orders in by 1:30pm if possible. Earlier the better. We are also delivering to Brookside, B’nai Emunah and Beggs as usual.

This week’s CSA will likely include:

Tomatoes
Sweet and/or purple bell peppers
Cucumbers (and more squash if you want it ;)
Fisher Red sweet onions (from a farm seed saving project)
Purple cabbage
Cantaloupe
And a little sweet corn

See you tomorrow!

Opening the Online Market

Hello Friends,

We are sorry for not having had the online market open for the last several weeks. And now that we are opening it, we are a bit late. We will need orders in by 4:00pm if possible. The sooner the better.

Thanks to those of you who joined us for the farm tour and dinner on Sunday evening! We really enjoyed the fellowship and pleasure of meeting some of you for the first time.

We will be checking our sweet corn this afternoon to see if any is ripe yet. If there is, we will include some in the CSA and take the rest to Brookside Market. We are not going to have as much or as nice of corn as usual on account of too much rain in May and June.

This week’s CSA will likely include:

3 pounds of tomatoes
summer squash
Potatoes
Beets and Carrots
Yellow Candy Sweet Onions
1 bulb garlic
and some combination of eggplant, sweet corn, peppers, and/or cucumbers depending on availability

This week we will be delivering to JCT and not Spirit Event Center. Other locations as usual.

Tomatoes are here!

Hello friends,

We are at Brookside Market today with plenty of tomatoes! We had hoped to have had sweet corn by now, but our early plantings completely drowned. Our later ones might make a little.

This is a Spirit Event Center drop off week. We will be there by 1:00pm. Other locations as usual.

This week’s csa includes:

Tomatoes
Potatoes
Onions
Eggplant
Garlic
Cabbage
A purple “green” bell pepper
And a few beets
And one jalapeño

If you didn’t get blackberries last week, then we will be arranging something special for you :)

Luke
